Dream Job – Step 1 !

 

 

Good morning,

it’s a lovely sunny day in London and I thought that today would be a lovely day to start our journey together.

Some people want to work for themselves but there are lots of people out there who want to be employed but doing what they love. 

It’s for you that I am writing this blog:

What exactly are you looking for ?

When you start job hunting you may think that there is really no choice.  You would be very wrong to think this way.  You have  choices !

There are two types of job hunts: 

• A traditional job hund

              and

• A life changing job hunt !

On this blog we are concentrating on the life changing job hunt. I am sure that most of us have gone through the traditional job hunt at some time in our lives.

What is a life changing job hunt ?

It’s an investigation, an exploration and an ongoing adventure………

• A new type of work with passion
• A sense of mission in your life
• Requires lots of effort but very worthwhile
• If uncertain of your passion, get to know yourself better
• Match your skills to your passion
• Lots of homework and research
• Get out there and walk the walk
• Identifying companies you want to work for, even if there are no jobs at the moment
• The internet can help but not the main search tool
• A company where you have space to grow and blossom
• You will end up on a new exciting path following your dreams
• Very very important: Follow your intuition

A job hunt, is just a job hunt, until we decide to get onto a new path.  You are seriously contemplating a radical shift in direction. You want to find your dream job.

Father approaches Bill Gates

Father: I have a husband for you daughter.

Bill Gates: But my daughter is too young.

Father: But this young man is the vice-president of the Word Bank.

Bill Gates: Ah, in that case… OK.

Finally father goes to see the president of the Work Bank

Father: I have a young man to be recommend as a vice-president.

President: But I already have more vice-presidents than I need.

Father: But his young man is Bill Gates’s son in law.

President: Ah, in that case….OK.

 

This is how business is done !!!!

The moral of the story is that even if you have nothing, you can get anything but your attitude and approach MUST be positive !

Greetings from a very sunny London, what a long winter we have had. We need some sun to recharge our run down batteries and to make us feel a bit more alive. 

Stop and smell the roses ( sorry, what roses.  Ok,  really look around you and appreciate all the wonderful things we have: our families, our health and our freedom). 

On my way to work today I heard on the news the latest survey about work happiness. 

The results were not surprising. 

Half of all workers are unhappy and unfulfilled in their jobs. 

Most of them do nothing at all about it and carry on with all the misery of dreading that alarm clock going off in the morning. 

It can be so different.  You can have the job you want.  It can be, passionate, exciting and a damn sight better than what you have now. 

What do you have  to loose ?  Nothing 

What do you have to gain ? Well you tell me

It’s never too early or too late to go in a different direction !

 

 Hi guys,

over the weekend I have been having many ideas as to how I can develop this blog to help you whilst being very fulfilling also for me.

I have had many personal and professional experiences which I feel would of be of great use and help to a lot of you out there.

I have had a very fulfilling job which I love but now realise that the time is right to look at my own passions and develop these outside my current job.

On the other hand I realise that many of you are at a cross-roads:

• You may be very young and not know which direction you want to go
• You may be at the stage where you need to make some choices regarding which career to choose
• You may be in in your mid-thirties and realise that you do not want to continue on this career path
• You  may be in your late forties / early fifties and think that it may be too late to change

The good news is that ANYONE at ANY stage of their lives can change direction and follow their passion.

I know that many people at petrified of either:

• Starting  a career in a field of their passion and opt for a safe option, normally choosen by someone else
• Changing careers at a later stage to enable them to follow their passion.

Many people do not want to actually work for themselves, they want to have a so called ‘ JOB ‘ but at the same time follow their passion and get well rewarded for it.

YES, YOU CAN CHANGE !   IT’S NEVER TOO LATE !

I have decided that I want to help you fulfill your dreams so that you can  a job you love and be the best employee from the company’s point of view.

About Me

Hi everyone,

I want you to get to know me so that we can build up a relationship.

I am actually quite nervous about doing this,  as for most of my life I have kept my problems, concerns and worries to myself without too much help from others.

I am normally a giver and not so much a receiver. Now I feel that I have to start opening up  and receive not just give.

Here goes:

I was born in 1960 in Portugal near Lisbon, to Catholic parents and came to London when I was 12 years old.

By the age of 15 I had a beautiful baby daughter who was the best baby in the world. By 18 I had got married, had a job, a mortgage and the average trappings of married life.

At 26 I had another gorgeous daughter and decided to start my own business. Unfortunately this did not succeed but it was a good learning curve for me.

Life plodded on and then when I was 37 I found out that my husband had been having an affair for 3 years and had a baby a few months old.

We stuck together through many ups and downs but life was very unhappy.  I then attended a Tony Robbins seminar and decided that my life could not continue as it was.

Moved out of the marital home, sold house and embarked on a new life.  Within 6 months realised that I still loved my husband and we both decided to start again in a new house and in a new area.

The past few years have been happy but difficult and we have kept going with various problems and different issues.

I have been in my present successful job for many years and the time has now come for me to broaden my horizons and think about ME…….

I am in the process of writing two books and now I also want to focus on my blog.

I have a beautiful 3 year old grand-daughter who is the light of my life and am privileged to have a few very good friends who have supported and helped me during the difficult times.

I now want to support others in the same way I have been supported and this is the main purpose of this blog.

Please feel free to tell me your story. I hope that I can give you some feed-back based on my own experiences which will be helpful to you.

The main point in my life is that you have to believe in a positive outcome even when the world looks very black outside.

As we progress in our journey together I will be giving you a more in-depth look at the obstacles I have overcome.  This will hopefully give you courage and hope if you are going through a similar situation.  

I would also love to hear from you if you have overcome any other difficult situation so that we can all help each other.

This is it !

I am very excited about starting this new blog. It’s like a new baby coming into the world.

The purpose of this blog is to help, support, encourage and inspire people like myself who want some direction in life.

I am a mother, a friend, a wife and many more things. I am nearly 50 years old and have decided that I now want to broaden my horizons and reach out to the world.

I have been helping and supporting many people young and old all my life and now I want to do it on a far wider basis.

I am not sure where this will lead me but I am looking forward to a very exciting and adventurous journey.
